More than 20 years ago, Helena, exhausted by a stressful life and burnout, decided to change direction. In search of meaning, she created a lodge inspired by South African and Angolan traditions, a tribute to southern Africa and Angola, a country dear to her heart. This lodge, built in 2011, became a haven of peace for city dwellers in search of adventure and reconnection with nature. The Forest Spa, an ode to the ancestral traditions of the Bane of Cameroon, adds a unique dimension to the experience.
The lodge stands out for its ecological and social commitment. It is built with natural materials to preserve the environment, has dry toilets, rations water and operates using solar energy. Helena also funds an ecological school in Oveng in 2016 and benefits from the support of Air France for school supplies in 2012.
The lodge is more than just a place to stay, it is an extraordinary sensory experience. Reconnecting with nature, slowing down the pace and exploring wild territories are at the heart of this adventure. Helena invites visitors to refocus on the essential, far from the fast and overexcited world.
Solo travel, a liberating experience, is encouraged here. Although it may cost more than a group trip, the personal benefits are immense: total freedom, encounters, exploration at one’s own pace. However, it requires careful preparation, with a well-defined budget and advance planning.
The lodge, recognized by several magazines and authorities, embodies a return to the roots and authenticity. It is an invitation to slow down, explore nature and reconnect with oneself, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
